Traces of Everyday: Cyanotype and Printmaking Exploration with Luciana Pedro
Traces of Everyday: Cyanotype and Printmaking with Luciana Pedro
Western Riverina Arts invites you to take part in a free workshop exploring the quiet, reflective power of the everyday through cyanotype and printmaking with artist Luciana Pedro.
In this hands-on session, participants will experiment with cyanotype, a historical photographic process that uses light-sensitive paper to create vivid blue-and-white prints. Using natural materials, textures, and sunlight, participants will compose original works that respond to their surroundings and personal observations.
Building on this process, Luciana will guide the group through introductory printmaking techniques, including relief carving and textural impressions using found flora. The workshop will also explore collaborative composition and encourage discussion about memory, impermanence, and connection to place.
This workshop is open to all skill levels and all materials will be provided. Each participant will leave with one original cyanotype print and a hand-printed image developed during the session.

About the Artist
Luciana Pedro is a visual artist and printmaker whose practice moves fluidly between traditional printmaking, painting, and experimental image-making. Originally from Brazil, Luciana has spent the past decade living and working nomadically across Latin America and Europe, engaging diverse communities through workshops, collaborative projects, and exhibitions.
Her work often emerges outside the conventional gallery or studio context. Embracing the ephemeral, the imperfect, and the spontaneous nature of everyday life. Through her workshops, Luciana creates space for shared artistic experience and reflection, inviting participants to reimagine their environments through print, texture, and light.
Luciana is currently expanding her practice into new forms while continuing to centre community, accessibility, and experimentation in her approach.
