Emerging Writers Festival 2019 Artist Call Out

Emerging Writers Festival 2019 Artist Call Out

Each year, the Emerging Writers Festival opens a call-out for artists and writers to submit an expression of interest in participating in the Festival. Writers are invited to share not only their individual work, but their ideas for the events, topics and conversations that they want to be included within the festival.

Diversity, inclusivity and accessibility are the core values that underpin EWF’s artistic program, offering a unique opportunity for writers of all ages and backgrounds, representing all genres and styles of writing, to participate in and engage with.

Each year they program almost 300 artists from around Australia, and are committed to selecting 25% of these from the open artist call-out. The Festival organisers also have budget to fly some artists to Melbourne for the festival, so they welcome interstate and regional applications.

This year, they are also running a new stream of ‘co-productions’ with individuals and collectives. This is an opportunity to pitch an idea which they will then work with you to develop and deliver as part of the festival. EWF will provide budget for artist fees, marketing and promotions as part of the festival program and support through their festival staff!

The 2019 Emerging Writers’ Festival will run from 19-29 June in Melbourne. The artist call-out closes 11.59pm AEDT December 2, 2018.
