2017 Brisbane Art Prize - Open NOW

Entries are now open for the 2017 Brisbane Art Prize, an international acquisitive $10000 award and exhibition. Artworks accepted include painting, drawing, printmaking, photography and sculpture reflecting the topic “The meaning of life”. This is a fantastic opportunity for all artists with a prize value of up to $10,000 to put towards their art practice.

  • Open to artists working in: painting, drawing, printmaking, photography and sculpture

  • Exhibition: Thursday 5 October  to Saturday 28 October
    Awards Evening: Thursday 12 October @ JUDITH WRIGHT CENTRE of CONTEMPORARY ARTS

THE CREATIVE BRIEF:

Create an art work based on the concept "the meaning of life—its significance, purpose, and ultimate fate" — as a central world concept that has been questioned in science, philosophy, religion and art.

PAINTING; DRAWING; PRINTMAKING; PHOTOGRAPHY
Size Parameter:  Framed or stretched works are required to be up to and no larger than 50 x 70 cm. Orientation:  Portrait or Landscape 

SCULPTURE
Size Parameter:  Installed works are required to be up to and no larger than 40 cm (width)  x 40 cm (depth) x 80 cm (height).
