Yiradhu Marang Creative Community, Lyllardya here!

What's new in the Western Riverina community? I hope the arrival of Spring has put a little pep in your step! Always feel free to reach out and connect with us for all your artistic and creative thoughts and endeavours. We would love to connect with artists on the ground who are working toward bringing a little creative magic to our beautiful towns.

Over at Western Riverina Arts we are in full prep for the upcoming busy months. We have Artstate quickly approaching on the 31st October to 3rd November. They have gone above and beyond to create an amazing lineup of incredible speakers and an arts program that showcases the profound artistic and cultural identity of the North West region of NSW. This year Artstate is located in Tamworth, if you would like to attend head over to the Artstate website to register!

On 19th and 20th September, Dr Lee Kofman is visiting Narrandera and Griffith for a writing workshop and author talk. Dr Kofman is a Russian-born Israeli-Australian author of five books, editor of two anthologies, writing teacher and mentor based in Melbourne. We are incredibly grateful to be holding these two events and hope you can attend.

Finally, we recently did an artist and creatives call out on social media so we can showcase some of the creative talent we have in our region. This will be an ongoing project with some pretty exciting things to follow. This month's newsletter will feature one of many artists we hope to continue showcasing. Be sure to watch this space to follow the progress.

ARTIST OF THE MONTH

Meet emerging and established artist within the Western Riverina region!

Meet Karly Sivewright!

Karly is a local Griffith artist and has been painting for around 12 years. Currently her favourite mediums are atmospheric watercolours, abstract inks and huge abstract resin artworks and homewares. Karly's passion is playing with different textures, techniques, soft colour and getting caught up on the creation of the work in her studio or travelling in her caravan both with good music and a glass of local Durif or Aussie gin. We absolutely love Karly's work and encourage everyone to check out her Facebook page and Instagram page.

Let's get behind our local artist and send them some love and support for the amazing work they are doing in our beautiful communities!
