Call Out For Henry V Cast and Crew

William Shakespeare’s Henry V is coming to Leeton.

The Roxy Theatre and Kensington House Entertainment present a groundbreaking production of one of Shakespeare’s most beloved plays, to be staged in Leeton’s Mountford Park in April 2021.

In a story more than 600 years old, Henry V immortalises the victory of the young English king against the French in the Battle of Agincourt in 1415. The famous Band of Brothers speech from this play is not unfamiliar on sporting and battle fields the world over. And here in our rural heartland, this tale of heroism against insurmountable odds, courage, brotherhood and resilience, is also the story of who we are.

Leeton’s own, Jake Speer, is the production’s Director and lead actor. And in a unique opportunity for the local and surrounding community, the other acting roles and all elements of technical production will be filled by local and regional community members. They will get to work alongside industry professionals to drive the show and develop professional theatre production and acting skills along the way.

Speer and the production team are clear – this is, above all, an empowering community project. “This will be a project fostered on excellence, nurturing creativity – recognising it, unlocking it, harnessing potential. We want anyone who has any curiosity about being involved to put up their hand. Anyone. This is about building the creative capacity of our town. But it’s also about putting on a bloody good and very unique show.

All the years of service our Grand Old Lady Roxy Theatre in fostering local talent will be honoured by this production, one that would be at home on any world stage, one that everyone can be part of.”

To register your interest, or for further information, visit the Roxy website or phone the Henry V Production Manager Sam Webber on (02) 6953 2074. A community information session will be held Tuesday December 1st at The Roxy Theatre from 6:30pm. All welcome. First round auditions will take place December 12-13 2020, with a second round of auditions held on January 9-10 2021.
