WRA welcomes new Chairperson

Western Riverina Arts would like to welcome Susan Carey Killham as new Chairperson. As Council Representative for Narrandera, Mrs. Killham was elected at the annual general meeting in Griffith last week and replaced Margaret Couch, Community Representative for Griffith.

"I am very honoured to take on this role with Western Riverina Arts. In its short history WRA has had some major successes and definitely has big plans for the future. We have great staff and a committed board and with the ongoing support of our councils and our communities the future looks very bright for the development of the arts within our four member Shires." said Mrs. Killham.  "I very would much like to congratulate and thank Margaret Couch, our outgoing chairperson,  who has worked tirelessly and most effectively to lead theboard. Her enthusiasm, skill energy and commitment have been an invaluable asset to the board and to the arts within our region."

Outgoing chair Margaret Couch said "I would like to welcome Susan Killham to the role of chair for Western Riverina Arts. WRA has made great inroads in the past five years setting the arts scene, developing arts infrastructure and forming strong collaborative relationships regionally and beyond and Sue is a perfect fit to continue this work into the future."

Regional Arts Development Officer Derek Motion also thanked outgoing chair Margaret Couch for her continued contributions, enthusiasm and leadership and is looking forward to work with Mrs Killham as the new Chair. "We will build on the achievements of the past five years as we continue to strategically build stronger relationships and partnerships with other community service and government organisations and in doing so ensure sustainable delivery of arts and creative industries programs and services to the Western Riverina region." said Mr. Motion.

Two new board members also joined WRA at the annual general meeting - Former Communications Officer Jason Richardson as Leeton Community Representative and Sue Fordham as Griffith City Representative.

We are all looking forward to offer our services to our creative communities!
