Young musician of the year award by Griffith Musicians Club

Young Musicians step right up, it’s that time of the year again where the Griffith Musician’s club is on the search for Griffith’s cream of the crop.

“It never ceases to amaze me the young talent that this area produces” says Vice President Mr Pat Sergi. “Previous recipients have been given a big step up with this award and been motivated to bigger and better things. They gain exposure and opportunities that enable them to further advance themselves in the music industry."

The young Musician of the Year Award now in its 10 th year has become a really important activity for the club and is well supported by all its members, who are keen to see the next lot of up and coming musicians. This exposure has also allowed some of the new talent to play with some successfully established bands.

“We welcome any teenage musician or vocalist from within a specified radius of Griffith to enter this award” said Mr Michael President of GMC. “We have a very rigorous judging process with experienced musicians who play a broad range of music and instruments on the judging panel. We are looking not just for formally trained musicians and vocalists but for any young talent that Griffith has to offer.”

Contestants are encouraged to supply video of their performing skills as part of their applications.

The winner will take home a gift voucher to the value of $1,000 from Custom Music as well as $1,000 cash from the Griffith musicians club. Runners up also receive a cash prize all of which happens at the prestigious Young Musician of the Year presentation night held at the Regional Theatre Wednesday 5 th April 2017.

Entries close Monday 6 th March 2017. Entries are available at Custom Music and can also be downloaded HERE .
