Regional Song Contest 2016 - YOUR time to shine

Regional Song Contest 2016 - YOUR time to shine

For the third time the Regional Song Contest by fRETfEST is searching for young talented singer-songwriters from regional Australian communities. The annual song contest is aimed at youth aged 13-19 years, who are unsigned, with original songs to be submitted.

The winner gets to perform on stage at the 2017 Tamworth Country Music Festival and scores a music mentorship by fRETfEST, which includes the recording of an original song and production of a video.

Contest convenor, Al Buchan, said, “The Regional Song Contest is designed to give young people from regional areas the chance to be discovered. It’s all about nurturing authenticity and guiding growth."

fRETfEST helped kick-start the careers of successful singer-songwriters including Pete Murray, Kate Miller-Heidke and Tom Busby of Busby Marou.

Entries must be submitted by 5pm on Friday 23rd December 2016 and winners will be announced on Monday 16th January 2017.
