The Griffith Regional Art Gallery is hosting For Country, For Nation from the 16th June to the 22nd July.
When WWI broke out, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples had few rights, poor living conditions, and were not allowed to enlist in the war effort. Despite this, many Indigenous people did serve in defence of Australia. The Australia War Memorial’s For Country, for Nation exhibition presents the previously untold stories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander military service and sacrifice, through a touching collection of objects, photographs, and artworks by Aboriginal and Islander artists.
Saturday & Sunday: 11am - 2pm
Wednesday - Friday: 10am - 5pm
Closed: Monday & Tuesday
