A recognized stalwart of the Australian scene, Laurie has been actively and consistently painting at the highest level for close to twenty years. An avid artist since childhood, Laurie graduated in Visual Design from the University of New England. He is known around the world for his mastery of flow and funk in the way he manipulates letters, and has travelled throughout Europe, USA and Australia. Laurie, as the elder statesman of the original Ironlak Family, is considered the heart and soul of the team, leading by example and held in the utmost respect by the rest of the artists.
Cooper is an inspiration to any aspiring young artist. While still at school he spearheaded two community art projects that brought experienced street artists to his home town to teach and mentor local youth. The latter brought him into contact with his heroes from Iron Lak – who were so impressed at his skill and initiative they invited him to work for them. He now works full time for Iron Lak and says “during the last few years I have had the privilege of collaborating with some of the biggest names in the graffiti sub culture from all over the world.”
